Equivalent weight per liter of solution called normality
Or
equivalent weight soluble in 1 liter solution

N : gram x 1000/equivalent weight x 1000

For solid

How make 1 N NaOH solution ?

Molecular weight of NaOH = 40 gm

=40 X 1000 /1X 1000 = 40gm

40 gm NaOH dissolved in 1 liter water = 1N NaoH solution

For liquid

How make 1N H2S04 solution ?

Normality = gram of soult X 1000 /
gram of equivalent weight  of solut * volume of solution

equivalent weight = Molecular weight / acidity or basicity

H2SO4  = 98/2

= 49

1 =  gram of solut X 1000
=49  X 1000
   = 49

49 gm H2SO4 dissolve in 1000 ml water = 1 N H2SO4

Gm convert into volume using formula

D = M/V

V = 49/1.92

= 25.5208

= 26 ml

26 ml H2SO4 dissolved in 1000 ml  water
